Municipal Corporation of Delhi begins survey of dangerous buildings ahead of monsoon Moneycontrol.com
With only two months left for the official arrival of the monsoon in Delhi, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has begun a survey to identify dangerous buildings in the national capital. The MCD aims to finish the exercise by the end of June, officials aware of the matter said. According to MCD officials, the exercise will be conducted in all types of localities, be it approved colonies or unauthorised colonies or villages. The monsoon in Delhi typically arrives in July. "The civic body has so far surveyed over 86,000 houses and none of them were found dangerous till now. If any building is found to be in a dilapidated condition, the MCD will serve notices to the owner for repairs followed by other required actions against dangerous buildings to avert any untoward incident, especially during the monsoon,” a MCD official told Moneycontrol.
