L-G wants walkways, cycle tracks along trunk drains in Dwarka

Delhi lieutenant governor Anil Baijal has asked the Delhi Development Authority to develop cycle tracks, walkways along the two trunk drains in Dwarka. DDA is working on project to reuse treated drain water to develop water bodies in the sub-city.


In a meeting on Wednesday, the L-G asked DDA officials to take measures to redevelop the space around the drains. “DDA has been advised to develop green corridors, cycle tracks, shaded walkways, children park, etc. with street furniture, lights and civic amenities along with drains to make them buzzing public spaces,” read a release by the L-G office. The DDA plans to redevelop two trunk drains measuring 5.3 km and 3.8 km there.
