In a good news, the Rajasthan Housing Board(RHB) on Thursday sold 19 flats for Rs 11.60 crore in Mansarovar Housing Scheme. The ‘open counter scheme’ received 50 requests on the opening day, out of which 19 people were allotted flats.

As the housing board has been trying to sell these flats for a long time, Thursday’s development is considered to be a ray of hope for them.

There are approximately 1,700 houses located in Indra Gandhi Nagar, Pratap Nagar and other areas of the city.

Sita Ram Bari, additional chief engineer, RHB, said that on the first day, Dwarka Sector-12 HIG flats were in huge demand.

“As per the rules of this scheme, every day till 3pm applications will be invited and at 4pm allotments will be made. This procedure is on first come first serve basis,” said Bari. He further said that Mansarovar housing scheme is very beneficial to the public as there is no prerequisite condition of income.

“This is a golden opportunity to apply for flats under the housing board scheme. Anyone can apply in the scheme although people who have already been registered in the Mansarovar scheme will be given preference. In the housing board scheme, about 165 flats of MIG-B and HIG are available at present. The registration for the flats can be done till September 6, 2019, in the section office situated at Hira Path and Kaveri Path,” added Bari.

At present, the board has more than 24,000 unsold flats in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota,  Udaipur, Alwar and Bikaner circles.
