113 real estate agents register with TNRERA in first half of 2018

As many as 113 real estate agents registered with the Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority in the first half of 2018.


Data available on the TNRERA portal states that a total of 113 have registered as real estate agents till July 2, of which 81 are individuals. While majority of the real estate agents are in Chennai, real estate agents from different parts of the state, including Coimbatore and Madurai, also figure on the list.


As per the Tamil Nadu Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Rules, 2017 real estate agents should maintain books of account, records and documents in accordance with the provisions of the Income Tax Act, 1961.


While those registering as individuals must pay a registration fee of Rs 25,000, others registering under the category of firms should pay Rs 50,000 towards the registration fee.
